Detailed Methodology:
We aim to utilize a comprehensive scoring method to determine the global university rankings for each IQC. Here’s a simple step-by-step guide to our process:
- We aggregate the scores of all the teams during each IQC stage from a specific university, which is referred to as the in-sample score*.
- Each IQC stage’s score is normalized and subsequently added to generate the consolidated in-sample score for that particular university.
- In a similar manner, we derive an out-of-sample score* for each university.
- These scores are then given proportional weight, where the in-sample score holds a 25% weight, and the out-of-sample score holds a 75% weight. Post-normalization, this forms each university’s score for each IQC.
- Our final ranking is a composite score that includes the current year’s score as well as the preceding three years’ scores, with respective weights of 25%, 15%, and 10%.
